NewPaakkola’s New Conveyor System Targets International Markets!

NewPaakkola has developed an innovative conveyor system utilizing new technology, specifically designed for the dry stacking of tailings. This advanced technology enables significant progress in terms of green transition and offers substantial cost savings to customers. The system was launched in November at the Finnmateria 2024 trade fair in Jyväskylä. Now, the product development has progressed to international marketing, which will commence this year.

“Mining activities have environmental impacts, with the most significant arising from land use, mine waste, and mining waters. These impacts can be mitigated through appropriate technological solutions and good planning. The purpose of the ongoing project is to determine the technical suitability of the system for new and varying applications as well as its market potential,” explains Product Manager Juha Teikari. The project aligns with the company’s core strategy, which aims to drive growth and international trade by diversifying the current product range. Achieving this goal requires investments in modern international marketing.

“Ensuring the suitability and scalability of the stacking system for new applications requires adequate resourcing and quality. Audiovisual tools – such as 3D modeling – allow us to more concretely demonstrate and market the benefits of the product to customers. Building a new customer base and enabling internationalization also necessitate understanding industry actors and operational models,” Teikari states. The development project targeting international markets has been funded by the North Ostrobothnia Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.
